Background of the collaboration
Sustainability management refers to management aimed at realizing a sustainable society over the long term from the three perspectives of "ESG: Environment, Society, and Governance," and is considered important for companies aiming for long-term growth amid the emergence of various social issues.
Many companies are working to recruit and train people with sustainability insight to help them achieve the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals), but ESG is a broad topic with a wide range of approaches. However, ESG is a broad topic with a wide range of approaches, making it difficult to understand comprehensively, and there is a lack of sufficient employee training to realize sustainable management.
In response to these issues, BSI, an international standards organization with 120 years of history, and Pasona HRS, an expert in human resource development and organizational development that has provided training to more than 8,000 companies, have decided to bring their respective strengths together and establish the Pasona ESG Academy to develop human resources for sustainability. Pasona HRS and Pasona ESG Academy have decided to establish the "Pasona ESG Academy.
Through the Pasona ESG Academy, Pasona and Pasona HRS aim to produce sustainable human resources who are proficient in ESG issues, with a view to society five, 10 and 30 years from now, by providing solutions that enable a step-by-step and all-round approach.
Features of the Pasona ESG Academy
Pasona ESG Academy offers a hierarchy of levels to enable systematic learning according to the maturity of knowledge and experience.
Tier 1: Basic knowledge required for sustainability personnel is explained in a compact and easy-to-understand manner. Starting with SDGs training for all employees, experts in each field of ESG such as biodiversity, diversity, and climate change will provide easy-to-understand explanations of their respective characteristics and initiatives by WWF lecturers utilizing the extensive network Pasona HRS has cultivated over the years.
Tier 2: We provide several training courses for those in charge of ESG to deepen their understanding of international and industry standards in each ESG area of expertise. Based on the knowledge of BSI, a leader in the development and dissemination of sustainability-related standards, these training courses enable participants to acquire the knowledge necessary to establish a sustainability promotion system and disclose progress while utilizing international and industry standards as a framework. By taking courses that meet their objectives, participants can expect to further enhance their expertise and disseminate their knowledge throughout the organization.
Purpose-driven Management: Purpose-driven management is now attracting attention around the world, and BSI, together with experts from a number of global companies and research institutions, has developed PAS 808, an international guideline for Purpose-driven organizations. We are pleased to announce the launch of the first Purpose Driven Management practical training course in Japan based on PAS 808. In this training course, we will explain the actions and principles required to make Purpose take root in the organization and to build a Purpose-driven management system. Through discussion, participants will deepen their understanding of the actions that organizations should take to develop and mature their Purpose.
Through this collaboration between BSI Japan and Pasona HRS, the two companies will provide training that is useful not only for the immediate development of sustainable human resources, but also for the establishment of sustainable management with a view to the future.
The Academy will also aim to bring society as a whole one step closer to solving social issues by increasing the number of sustainable human resources, in other words, to develop human resources who can lead not only individuals and organizations but also society at large.
