TBS TELEVISION,INC.and K-BALLET have unveiled a new trailer forthe first performance of 2024, Daiwa House PRESENTS Tetsuya Kumakawa K-BALLETTOKYO Spring 2024 "Giselle".

K-BALLET TOKYO, led by Tetsuya Kumakawa, will present "Giselle," a masterpieceof romantic ballet, in March.

This is the first full-actproduction by Tetsuya Kumakawa, who has created many masterpieces from classicrevisions to original works. Kumakawa, who loved this masterpiece as a dancerand has a special respect for it as a "completed ballet," delvesdeeply into its unshakable world while remaining faithful to its traditions,and brings to the stage a dramatic world in which theater and dance are fusedthrough his outstanding staging techniques.

This profound love story willmove audiences to a new level of excitement.

Julian MacKay (C)Nicholas MacKay

Born in the United States. After studying at the Bolshoi Ballet Academy, he worked with the Mikhailovsky Ballet and San Francisco Ballet before becoming a principal of the Bavarian State Ballet in 2022.

In May 2023, he performed the role of Pinkerton in K-BALLET's first full-length ballet production of "Madame Butterfly" to rave reviews.

STORY

The setting is a medievalGerman farming village. Giselle, a village girl, has a lover named Lois.

In fact, Lois is a noblemanwhose name is Albrecht, but he hides his identity and pretends to be avillager.

Hilarion, a forest guard whohas feelings for Giselle, is suspicious of Lois' existence and intervenes tobreak the ice between him and Giselle.

Giselle is elected queen of thegrape harvest festival and enjoys dancing with the villagers. However, hermother, worried about Giselle's weak heart, tells her to stop dancing and tellsher about the legend of Willis, the spirit of the maidens who died before theirmarriage.

Then the Archduke and hishunting party, including his daughter Bathilde, arrive. Bathilde is actuallyAlbrecht's fiancée. When Giselle discovers her lover's lies and betrayal, shebecomes delirious with despair and finally dies.

Albrecht, overcome with grief,visits the forest where Giselle's grave is located. And then...
