General Incorporated Association Arcoiris (Location:Nishi-Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Mai Ejima) will hold "Miss International Queen 2024 JAPAN" on February 2, 2024 (Friday) at Shinagawa Intercity Hall. "Miss International Queen" is the world's largest beauty pageant for transwomen, held annually in Pattaya, Thailand. The grand prix winner of this competition will represent Japan in the 18th "Miss International Queen 2024" world contest in August 2024.
Miss International Queen JAPAN 2024
The theme of "Miss International Queen JAPAN 2024" is "Change" and the theme flower is "Bird of Paradise Flower." The 10 semi-finalists, who have passed a rigorous screening process from among applicants throughout Japan, will plan and produce their own presentation in line with this theme, and will face the judges at the competition. The 10 semi-finalists will proceed to the "Performance competition," where they will be judged on the basis of their self-produced presentation that showcase their individuality. In addition, they are also judged on "Swimwear and Dress competition," where they will be judged on the beauty of their lissome bodies. The three finalists will then proceed to the "Speech competition."
The judges will include Ai Haruna, Sumire, and world-renowned photographer Leslie Kee, as well as world competition organizers Alisa, owner of TIFFANY'S SHOW from Pattaya, Thailand, and Solange, Grand Prix winner of "Miss International Queen 2023" from the Netherlands. The transwomen representing Japan will be strictly judged on their sense of beauty as well as having the potential to be active worldwide.
In addition to the competition, there will be a special stage with guest performers. Opera singer Maria Seiren, the first "Japan's Got Talent" champion, will perform using both her soprano and tenor voice. The "KRUMP" dancers FULLCAST RAISERZ from the first Japanese professional dance league "D.LEAGUE," will also perform on stage.
Starting this year, V-VIP tickets which comes with a glass of champagne are on sale to make the event more entertaining. We have also started selling student discount tickets to help elementary, junior high, and high school students who have concerns about their views on gender. We hope that this will be an opportunity to deepen the understanding of LGBTQ (sexual minority) issues among more people, including Generation Z and Generation Alpha. The event consists of four competition sessions: "Swimwear competition," "Dress competition," and "Performance competition" to select the three finalists from the 10 semi-finalists, and "Speech competition" to select the grand prix winner from the three finalists. The theme of this year's competition is "Change" and the theme flower is the glittering and exciting "Bird of Paradise Flower," which is the language of flowers "Queen's Brilliance." The 10 semi-finalists, including nurses, hospitality workers, and theater troupe members, will perform in line with these themes.
The Audience Will Be Overwhelmed & Glued To Their Performances
The semi-finalists have carefully prepared for their competition, and the audience cannot take their eyes off of their performances. In the "Performance competition," the semi-finalists will self-produce all the music, lighting, costumes, and other aspects of their performances. Each contestant will fill the stage with their own personality and story to create a highly entertaining showcase. In the "Swimwear competition," the semi-finalists will present their beautiful bodies, which they had trained for this day, and walk the stage with vigor and vitality. In the "Dress competition," the contestants will express their gracefulness in sparkling dresses.
In the final "Speech competition," the contestants will express their passion to win, including their past lives, future goals and their thoughts on LGBTQ issues.

Special Stage By World-class Performers
Guest artists will include Maria Seiren, an opera singer who sings with both soprano and tenor voice, and the KRUMP dance team "FULLCAST RAISERZ" from "D.LEAGUE," which is the first dance league in Japan to put their name on the global map.

Opera singer (soprano/tenor), born in Tokyo. She made her debut at Suntory Hall (Blue Rose) in December 2015. She performed the world premiere of the opera "TRISTEZZADI SIRENA – AMORE PROIBITO" in 2017 and the world premiere of the opera "il lago di Dio" in 2019, where she sang in both soprano and tenor voice. She has drawn attention from various industries as a mysterious singer who happens to cross the boundaries of gender. In 2023, she was the first champion of "Japan's Got Talent". She is the leader of MondoParallelo Opera Troupe.

"Miss International Queen" is the world's largest beauty pageant for transwomen, hosted by TIFFANY'S SHOW in Pattaya, Thailand. "Miss Tiffany's Universe," the predecessor to "Miss International Queen", boasts a 40-year history and has won awards from the Tourism Authority of Thailand as a "family entertainment show." It was ranked 4th in the "Top 10 Shows in the World (2001)" by Travelcom Magazine, and continues to attract attention as an activity to deepen the understanding of LGBTQ (sexual minority) issues.
This year marks the 18th time since the first "Miss International Queen" was held in 2004, and in the 2009 competition, Haruna Ai from Japan won the Grand Prix out of 25 contestants who passed the qualifying round from 15 countries around the world, and it became the catalyst for her subsequent breakthrough.
