Togari Onsen Ski Resort, operated by Togari Onsen Ski Resort K.K. (Head office: 6356-Ni Oaza Toyoda, Iiyama City, Nagano Prefecture; President: Toshito Muramatsu), has begun operating Japan's first snow activity "Yuki-Chari" using fat bikes on Saturday, January 13, 2024, after a long delay due to lack of snow. The snow bike activity was postponed due to the lack of snow.

The limited time activity "Yuki-Chari Night Time" will be held on January 27 (Sat), February 3 (Sat), February 10 (Sat), February 17 (Sat), and February 24 (Sat), 2024.

Background and Attraction of "Yuki-Chari

Yuki-chari" is the first winter sport in Japan that can only be experienced at Togari Onsen ski resort.

In response to the decline in the winter sports population, we began to think about whether there was a snow activity that could be enjoyed outside of skiing and snowboarding. Since there was no such activity in Japan yet, we wondered if it would be possible to enjoy fat bikes, which are popular in North America (Europe and the United States), on the snow. This led to the introduction of a new type of snow activity that uses bicycles, which can be ridden by many people, to freely ride around on the snow.

The "Snow Bike" allows visitors to enjoy a 2,000-meter-long course with spectacular views by riding on a lift. The fat bike with fat tires is stable on the soft snow, making it easy and safe for anyone to enjoy.

We hope to turn Togari Onsen ski resort into a mecca for snow riding.

Details of "Yuki-Chari Snow Ride

The "Snow Chari" is designed to be enjoyed by women and children, beginners and experts alike, as it can be ridden as easily as a regular bicycle with brakes and handlebars. The "Yuki-Chari Snow Ride" activity at Togari Onsen Ski Resort is recommended for families and groups of friends, as the minimum number of participants is 5. The riding area is within the Pegasus slope, and approximately 2 to 3 rides can be done in half a day. Ski wear is sufficient for this tour, and necessary equipment can be rented.

Fee: Half-day Adult 5,000 yen

Adults must be junior high school students or older.

Round-trip transportation and lodging to and from the site will be charged at actual cost.

*Yuki Chari Snow Ride is not a tour format.

*In Snow Ride, you will enjoy riding down the slopes on the lifts.

Guests do not need to worry about their fitness as they will ride the lifts to the top of the slopes.

Snow boots are recommended. Snowboard boots are also fine.

If you do not have snowboard boots or clothing, please rent them at the rental store.

Bicycles are not allowed.

About the event on the day of the tour

In order to ensure everyone's safety and enjoyment, the Snow Chari Snow Ride may be cancelled or changed in the event that snow conditions deteriorate significantly (avalanche on the course or heavy snow makes it difficult to ride).

We will contact the representative by 8:30 a.m. (12:30 p.m. in the case of the afternoon session) on the day of the event to inform all reserved participants.

Visitors can enjoy a different experience than during the daytime while viewing the night view and starry sky, which can only be seen at night.

If you bring a headlight or bicycle light, the forest and tree run courses, which are out of reach of lighting, become thrilling adventure courses. The lighting casts shadows on the slopes, making it easier for first-timers to see the unevenness than during the daytime.
