Digitization in the construction industry has been progressing rapidly in recent years. Processes from project initiation to construction disposal are beginning to incorporate efficient management methods using big data, IoT, cloud computing, AI, and building information modeling (BIM).

BIM is an information management mechanism that uses digital modeling to manage information across the entire life cycle of a built asset, from initial design through construction, maintenance, and ultimately disposal, enabling collaboration among engineers, owners, architects, and contractors in a common data environment that includes 3D models, It enables efficient information sharing in a common data environment, including 3D models.

ISO 19650 is an international standard for information management throughout the life cycle of assets built using BIM.

It contains all of the same principles and high-level requirements as BIM Level 2 (*2) and is closely aligned with the PAS 1192 standard, the predecessor to this ISO. Proof of compliance with this requirement will indicate a mature BIM implementation.

BSI Japan is developing a service to prove the BIM maturity of its clients by providing BSI Kitemark certification and verification services. The BIM BSI Verification (Verification) by Issenbou now includes capacity and capacity assessment, documentation of ISO 19650-2 compliant processes such as TIDP, maintenance of CDE using BIM360 and its own SharePoint for the prime contractor organization, model creation and deliverable checking The effectiveness of the process has been verified. In order to promote ISO 19650 in the future, it is becoming increasingly important to understand the respective roles of the client organization, prime contractor organization, and subcontractor organization in the information management cycle and the roles they must play.
