Tokai Motor Co. (Head office: Ito-shi, Shizuoka; President: Yuji Miyake), in cooperation with Odakyu Travel (Odakyu Electric Railway Co., Ltd.), will offer a one-day bus tour from Odawara Station to the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival (Kawazu Town) and the Minami no Sakura and Nanohana Festival (Minami Izu Town), which herald the arrival of spring in Izu. The one-day bus tour will take you from Odawara Station to both festivals.

The tours are planned by Tokai Bus Group, which has been operating in Izu for more than 100 years and has extensive knowledge of Izu's sightseeing, from the classic to the obscure, and are packed with special experiences that only a bus tour can offer.

The Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival, held in Kawazu-cho, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture, the birthplace of the Kawazu cherry tree, is a major Izu event that attracts many tourists from all over Japan every year. About 850 Kawazu cherry trees planted along the Kawazu River that runs through the town are in full bloom, and rape blossoms planted along the river bloom at the same time. The co-starring of the deep pink Kawazu cherry blossoms and yellow rape blossoms attracts the hearts of visitors.

1】Outline of tour

In addition to the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival, this tour will visit Chateau T.S., a winery in Izu that handles everything from grape cultivation to winemaking and sales, and Komuroyama Ridge Walk "MISORA", a scenic spot popular among young people. The tour will also include an optional lunch stop at a winery in Izu, "Chateau T.S.".

As an option for lunch, we have prepared a bacon lettuce sandwich, a popular menu item at "pikiniki," a sandwich and coffee shop located in Amagi, Izu.

*This is the first time "pikiniki" has offered its menu for a bus tour.

The "pikiniki" sandwiches will be loaded at Joren-no-taki and served onboard the bus or at the Kawazu Cherry Blossom Festival site. They are not available inside the restaurant.

The Minami no Sakura and Rape Blossom Festival, held in Minami Izu Town, Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture, located at the southern tip of the Izu Peninsula, attracts visitors with its 4.2 km-long rows of cherry trees planted along both banks of the Aono River that runs through Minami Izu Town. Minami-Izu Town is also home to Shimokamo hot springs scattered along the Aono River, where visitors can enjoy viewing the cherry blossoms with the steam rising from the hot springs in various places. In addition, the rape blossom fields, which make use of large fallow rice paddies, offer "bright yellow" scenery as far as the eye can see.
