Snow-covered Mt. Asama is called "gateau chocolat" and many mountaineering enthusiasts come to see this view. Asama's outer rim, the view from the precipitous cliff of Tomi no Mashira is breathtaking even after many times of viewing the well-proportioned dome shape of the mountain. Komoro is known as the birthplace of Shinshu miso.

It is said to have its roots in the "battle rice" (ikusameshi) called "jandase-miso" invented by Shingen Takeda, who ruled most of the Shinano Province during the Warring States Period. Along the Hokkoku Kaido Road in the castle town of Komoro Castle, there were many miso and soy sauce breweries. Here are some warm gourmet foods made with miso and soy sauce from Komoro.

(1) Shinshu Miso x Ramen

Shinshu Miso Ramen Yamabuki, which opened on Sunday, October 1, 2023, is operated by the Yamabuki Group, which has been in business for 349 years.
