MACHI cafe+, a café service operated by Lawson, Inc. (headquartered in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; Sadanobu Takemasu, President; hereinafter "Lawson") at limited-edition stores*1, will begin selling an original recipe smoothie made with fresh bananas and espresso, "Espresso Banana Smoothie," from December 19, 2023 (Tue.). Espresso Banana Smoothie," an original recipe using fresh bananas and espresso, will be renewed with an even more delicious taste and will be available from December 19, 2023 (Tuesday). In addition, from December 26 (Tuesday) through January 3 (Wednesday), a sale will be held for 50 yen off the tax-included price of various drinks at "MACHI cafe+" *2.

Espresso Banana Smoothie

The Espresso Banana Smoothie is one of MACHI cafe+'s smoothies that is handmade and served one by one in the store after receiving an order, and the bitterness of the espresso makes it a banana smoothie for adults. We have recently reviewed the ingredients and formulation and changed the blender to achieve a smoother texture. Enjoy the harmony of the fresh banana flavor and the aromatic espresso. It can be topped with whipped cream for an additional 50 yen.

■About the development of "MACHI cafe+

From September 2022, LAWSON will begin a full-scale rollout of "MACHI cafe+," which will utilize in-store kitchen space to offer handmade smoothies made with fresh bananas, specialty coffee, and other items. The stores are selected based on the criteria set for the introduction of "Fantasista" (*), who are certified within the company according to the knowledge and skills of the store crew.

As of December 2023, the system has been introduced in 30 stores in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Ibaraki, Tochigi, and Niigata prefectures.

MACHI Cafe+" started from Fantasista's voice, "I want to talk with customers through hand delivery.

Through communication with customers, we aim to build a relationship where customers say, "I came to see you" or "I want to buy from you. Currently, we offer 6 to 10 types of coffee at any given time, including smoothies that are handmade to order and special coffee that is ground and brewed one cup at a time.

Many customers visit Lawson on a daily basis, asking, "What's in store today?" We try to make sure that there is always something fresh to discover no matter when they visit us.
