Collaborative concert by Hiroki Murakami, meditator, and Toshiyuki Omori, composer! Limited to 60 seats on 12/9 (Sat) at Salone Fontana, Tokyo

On Saturday, December 9, at Salone Fontana (Setagaya-ku, Tokyo), the 1,000-member meditation project "Kanade KANDADE" will hold a concert "Sora to Ongaku (kuuu x music)," which is neither a meditation session nor a music concert but a completely new experience, featuring Hiroki Murakami, a meditator with over 30 years of meditation experience, and Toshiyuki Omori, a composer known for the Neon Genesis Evangelion "Thesis of a Cruel Angel. The concert "kuuu×music" will be held with a limited seating capacity of 60 people.

The story behind the "Sky and Music" event

Composers Omori Shunsuke, known for "Thesis of the Cruel Angel" and "Lefranc of the Soul" from Neon Genesis Evangelion, "BLOODY STREAM" and "Fighting Gold" from JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, "So, Kyoto, Let's Go! Toshiyuki Omori, a composer known for his works such as "I'm not here!", started meditating this year, and felt the deepened space when he meditated with many people, and decided to hold this event.

Meditation teacher Hiroki Murakami, who teaches meditation in Omori, has taught "empty meditation" to more than 3,000 people over his 20 years as a meditation teacher, which enables anyone to enter the deep meditative state of "kuuuu" immediately. This collaborative event will be the first of its kind, and we hope to offer a new world of meditation and music to the 60 participants.

What is kuuuu?

Flowers, trees, animals, and we humans are all connected to one another in the deepest realm of existence. The stars, the universe, people, angels, gods, and all life and existence have all come from there. Everything in this world and this universe, deep within, is one great eternal consciousness/being. Each of us is like a spectacle, an offshoot, of that One Great Consciousness. The consciousness/being that is the source of all life is what is called "Kuu. Throughout history, saints and sages of various countries have referred to it as "Ku," "Great Self," "Source," "Great Spirit of the Universe," "Brahman," "Unified Field (Quantum Field)," "Tao," and so on. It is pure consciousness, which is even deeper than the depths of consciousness. In Zen, it is the "nothingness" of nothingness, or in religious terms, God. The true ancient home of our being. The great true self, which is "empty". And its nature is creation, maintenance, and destruction = light, love, and power, which are three qualities that encompass all energy, eternal and infinite stillness.

What is "Emptiness Meditation?"

It is the act of sitting up straight, closing one's eyes, quieting one's mind, going deep within oneself, and spending time merging with the greater consciousness and existence (ku, or "sky") that is inherent in the self. This merging with the kuuu is the original form of meditation, but in most meditation methods practiced over the past several thousand years, this merging with the kuuu has been achieved at a very high level of cultivation. But in a meditation practice like Eternal Love Meditation, which carries on the power of the true tradition, that "time of union with the sky" is the place to start.

[What kind of concert is this?

The meditator Murakami's meditation guidance and the fusion of sounds flowing from the "sky (kuuu)" created by all participants, including sho, cello, piano, voice, and nature sounds, will create a fusion of sounds. The program "Heart Weaving - Kanade," in which each participant's voice is superimposed on the sky, will also be presented for the first time. Ever since I can remember, I have wondered, "Who in the world am I? The fundamental question that has existed in him since he can remember and his desire to know the answer led him to "empty meditation" at the age of 20, and he began practicing meditation in earnest. After working as a consultant for a major company in his hometown of Ibaraki, he became a meditation teacher at the age of 32. After long-term meditation training with meditation master Bob Fix, he established "Meditation Space AOYAMA" in Minami Aoyama, Tokyo. He is currently practicing more than 5 hours of meditation every day, and has started a 1,000 meditation "Kanade" project to "open the door to the sky" in 2024.
