The streets of Harajuku and Shibuya will be dyed red with Santa Claus! Tokyo Great Santa Run 2023" will be held on November 19 (Sun.)

The "Tokyo Great Santa Run 2023" charity event will be held on Sunday, November 19, 2023, where participants will walk the streets dressed as Santa Claus while enjoying an extraordinary experience, and use their participation fees to give Christmas gifts to children battling illness.

The event will open at the Yoyogi Park Event Plaza with a Christmas live performance by special ambassador Maki Ohguro, followed by the first parade of approximately 2,000 (planned) Santa Clauses on public streets from Harajuku to Shibuya.

Tickets for participation are on sale through November 17 (Fri.) on the official website and at FamilyMart stores.

<Santa Claus jacks up Harajuku and Shibuya! Bringing kind feelings to the city

The "Tokyo Great Santa Run" is now in its 6th year. This year, Santa Claus will walk 2.5 km along the public road from Harajuku Station to Shibuya Station in a parade style, while thinking of children battling illnesses and enjoying the scenery of the city dyed in Christmas colors. Participation tickets include a costume, but each year, people also bring their own unique Santa Claus and Christmas costumes. Celebrities such as Maki Ohguro, Mark Panther, and cheer leader Kiyoshi Nakahata also appeared at the event as special ambassadors. Enjoying oneself naturally leads to supporting children. This is the feature of the "Great Santa Run.

<Let's expand the circle of support while enjoying Maki Ohguro's live performance and Spanish food & culture>.

Held in conjunction with Fiesta de España 2023, one of the largest Spanish festivals in Japan, which is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. In addition to a variety of food and cultural programs representative of Spain, there will be a Christmas live performance by Maki Ohguro on stage, as well as many other fun events such as performances and music. Messages from participants to children battling illnesses will be delivered to hospitals and overseas aid organizations along with presents at a later date.

The "Great Santa Run" started in Osaka in 2009 and in Tokyo in 2018. Every year, this charity event provides Christmas gifts to children who are forced to spend time in hospital, as well as support for children overseas in need of medical care.
