Underground shopping mall established in 1971

The name ESCA comes from E=EKINISHI, S=SHOPPING, C=CENTER, and A=AVENUE, and is an underground shopping mall that opened in 1971 in the basement of the plaza in front of Nagoya Station West Exit when the Tokaido Shinkansen began service. After undergoing renovations, it now consists of a total of 75 stores selling fashion, general merchandise, restaurants, souvenirs, and other items.
