The Crab Bus departs from Namba Station and Shin-Osaka Station in Osaka, and passengers can get on and off at Kasumi, Shibayama, Satsu, and other areas where lodging facilities are concentrated. This tour bus is designed to make crab trips to Kasumi more convenient in response to customers' comments such as "I am worried about driving a car due to snow accumulation" and "trains are inconvenient due to reduced JR service.

And this tour bus will be operated as a subsidized project approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism under the "Transportation and Tourism Coordination Type Project". Through this project, we will offer high value-added and low-priced services such as special offers at roadside stations where we stop along the way, and operation in a bus equipped with a luxurious restroom with a lavatory. Round trip: 9,800 yen (return trip only available for 6,500 yen)

Payment on the day of the tour is not accepted (advance payment only).

The tour fee is for the bus only and does not include accommodations.

This tour is a crab bus tour approved by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) for the "Project of Cooperation between Transportation and Tourism for the Revitalization and High Value-Added Tourism Industry in Local Communities" and operated in cooperation with Kozumi Tourist Association, Tajima Izushi Tourist Association, and Tamba City Tourist Association.

A limited menu for the Crab Bus and Kozumi Liner! It will be served at the Izushi Shiroyama Garden at the bus stop. Advance reservations are required to secure your seat! You can enjoy your meal right after the bus arrives, so you can explore the area smoothly afterwards.

Reservations required at least 7 days prior to departure (cannot be made on the day of departure).

Background of the Crab Bus/Kazumi Liner

Kami Town, Kaju, is known as the home of crab, but it had been facing a major problem that hindered the flow of overnight visitors.

(1) Interruption of access by car due to heavy snowfall

In winter, northern Hyogo Prefecture is subject to heavy snowfall. Some customers who had booked crab trips were unable to access the area due to heavy snowfall and had to cancel their trips in tears.... Even if you have studless tires, driving on snowy roads you are not used to can be a source of anxiety.

(2) Kozumi area has become inconvenient due to the revised JR timetable

With the spring 2023 timetable revision, the JR San'in Line service between Toyooka Station and Kaju Station has been reduced, making the Kaju area an inconvenient location for overnight guests who use public transportation. Previously, there was a train bound for Toyooka Station that departed from Kozumi Station at 9:38 a.m., so overnight guests would board that train and transfer at Kinosaki Onsen Station to a limited express train or highway bus for their return trip home. However, with the 9:38 a.m. departure from Kozumi Station being reduced, there is no longer a train at the right time, so guests cannot relax in the morning if they choose the earlier train (8:28 a.m. from Kozumi Station), and they have to wait a long time at the station if they choose the later train (10:57 a.m. from Kozumi Station). This is a painful problem for the guests, but also for the lodging facilities, as it delays the check-out of guests and hinders their ability to accommodate lunch.

To solve the above major problems, repeated discussions were held with the Kami Town Tourist Association and local lodging facilities, and the Kani Bus/Kaju Liner was set up. The bus service was subsidized by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), which enabled us to add value to the service to increase passenger satisfaction and to operate the bus with a higher rank.

■Efforts to Ensure Safety and Reliability

In order to operate the "Kani Bus/Kaju Liner," we actually departed the bus from the reception point in Osaka and conducted detailed checks to ensure that there were no problems with the itinerary or time required, and that the bus stopped safely at each local bus stop.

We also held a briefing session for local tourism-related businesses and lodging facilities. We made sure that all operators fully understood the outline of the bus operation so that they could guide their customers with peace of mind.
