Japan RA's NRA-PKI Client Certificates Support "Certificate Based Authentication (CBA) of Microsoft Entra ID Certificate Based Authentication (CBA) for Microsoft Entra ID

Japan RA Co. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Hideto Ogawa) announces that its NRA-PKI client certificates now support certificate-based authentication (CBA) for Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD). This support for Microsoft Entra ID CBA will make it easier to implement certificate-based authentication for Microsoft 365 login authentication.

Previously, a separate Active Directory Federation Service (AD FS) was required to implement certificate-based authentication for Microsoft 365, but with Microsoft Entra ID CBA, a CBA-compliant NRA-PKI With Microsoft Entra ID CBA, certificate-based authentication can now be easily implemented by simply preparing a client certificate that supports CBA.

In today's business environment, where cloud services such as Microsoft 365 are increasingly used directly from outside the company, it has become a major security challenge to continue to operate only with IDs/passwords, which still carries security risks such as unauthorized access and information leakage.

By using NRA-PKI client certificates and Microsoft Entra ID CBA, strict terminal authentication can be easily achieved by adding certificate-based authentication to Microsoft 365.

The NRA will provide CBA-compliant NRA-PKI client certificates at the same price as conventional client certificates. There are no optional fees.

Only devices with client certificates installed will connect to Microsoft 365.
