November 25 (Sat) and 26 (Sun), two nights only Toei Movie Theater Hadadafilmura Special Program "Ohata Edo Bar - Autumn Evening, Festival of the Village The lineup is now open to the public!

This fall, for the first time in six years, Toei Kyoto Movie Village (located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City) will revive its legendary night event "Ohata Edo Bar".

The event will be held for two nights on November 25 (Sat.) and 26 (Sun.), 2023 (limited to 1,000 people each).

The "Edo Bar" is an evening festival for sophisticated adults, where you can immerse yourself in an Edo-era atmosphere as if you have been transported back in time, while enjoying delicious Kyoto sake and food from famous restaurants, and enjoying to your heart's content the traditional performing arts that Japan is proud of.

This year's theme is "Autumn Evening, Village Festival. The theme is perfect for the season when the ancient capital becomes even more beautiful with its maple leaves in brocade.

This year, too, we have prepared a variety of contents for adults that will add color to the long autumn evenings.

Toei actors dressed as villagers will offer special experiences and shows at the yakata, including the ever-popular "Ronin BAR" and "Chohan BAR. You may also watch a sword fighting performance at the site.

Cultural figures and artisans

The "3D Ukiyoe" and the fantastic Noh play that were popular last time, the "Traditional Culture Unveiling Procession" that parades around the site, a show and exhibition of Nishijin textile tailored clothing brands, and a Shinsengumi discussion celebrating the 160th anniversary of the Shinsengumi, are just a few of the many cultural figures based in Kyoto that will be present.

The lineup is elaborately designed to showcase the beauty of Kyoto's culture and crafts.

At the Edo Bar, you can enjoy dishes from Kyoto's famous restaurants in a casual yatai (food stall) style while strolling around.

The menu ranges from snacks with dashi (Japanese soup stock) that are a perfect match for sake to playful nighttime snacks.

The menu for this season will be posted on the event's official Facebook page.

Food and beverages are charged separately. Please purchase a special golden ticket "Taima Koban" for 3,000 yen (600 yen x 5 tickets) at the venue on the day of the event.

Sake of Kyoto

A number of Kyoto-based sake breweries, including breweries established in the Edo period, will gather at this event.

The ever-popular "sake tasting" booths where sake brewers will be available will again be held at various locations throughout the venue.

There will be a variety of sake brands suitable for late autumn evenings, some of which will be served heated.

Please enjoy saké with a mouth-watering snack that will make your saké go down a storm.
