Akiko Hatsu x Junji Ito "World of Illusion and Variant Forms" exhibition will be held at Kyoto MEDIA SHOP gallery from November 22 (Wed) to December 2 (Sat), 2023.
Akiko Hatsu and Junji Ito are two manga artists who have been active in "Nemuki+" for many years and have created a unique world. This is a joint exhibition of original drawings by Akiko Hatsu, who has published many fantastic stories, and Junji Ito, who has created numerous horror masterpieces.
A total of 93 original works, including color drawings and manga manuscripts, will be on display.
In addition, there will be a variety of goods on sale, such as highly precise reproductions of original drawings and figures, T-shirts, tote bags, postcards, acrylic key chains, and other items created especially for this exhibition.
Akiko Hatsu
Born in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa Prefecture. Lives and works in Kanazawa City.
Debuted in 1981 with "Nami no Hikika" published in "ALLAN".
Her representative works include "Uryyudo Yume Jikkai" and "Uruwashi no Britsu Series".
Other works include "Kyoka Yumegen" and "Gensho Nohgaku-shu," which are manga adaptations of original works.
Currently, "Araarakashiko" is serialized in Shogakukan's "flowers" magazine.

Akiko Hatsu signing session will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2023 from 14:00 to 16:00.
Advance registration: Limited to 100 people selected by lottery for the autograph session.

Ito made his debut in 1987 with "Tomie," his first work for publication.
Since then, he has created numerous horror masterpieces such as "Uzumaki" and "Hanging Balloon,
He has won the Eisner Award, also known as the "Academy Award of Manga," four times.
This year, he received a Special Honor Award at the Angoulême International Cartoon Festival in France and the Inkpot Award at the San Diego Comic-Con in the United States.
He is a rare horror manga artist who has attracted the attention of creators around the world.

Signing session by Junji Ito will be held on Thursday, November 23, 2023, from 14:00 to 16:00.
