株式会社宙だよりスタジオ
Sora Dayori Studio Inc. (Head office: Yao City, Osaka; Representative: Ichiro Akagi), a company that plans, develops, and sells products related to space culture, will create a space gold leaf daiginjo-shu by floating the world's first space gold leaf that has traveled through space and returned in a daiginjo-shu made by the Awaji Island brewery Sennenichi Shuzo. A portion of the proceeds will be used to support reconstruction efforts in Fukushima. We will start accepting applications for the production fund on the crowdfunding site "READYFOR". The application period is from November 1, 2023 to December 25, 2023, and the target amount is 3 million yen.

■ Project Background
Tohoku, which was severely damaged by the tsunami and nuclear power plant accident caused by the Great East Japan Earthquake in March 2011, is still on an endless road to recovery. However, reconstruction is not limited to the affected areas.
We at Sora Dayori Studio wondered what we could do to support Tohoku's recovery, and with the cooperation of the One Earth Foundation, we launched gold leaf onto the space station. We decided to float the gold leaf that had traveled in space on top of a famous sake to create "Space Gold Leaf Daiginjo" and support the reconstruction of the area with a portion of the proceeds.
Furthermore, one of our friends introduced us to the Sennenichi Sake Brewery, which has been preserving traditional techniques for over 100 years on Awaji Island, which was the epicenter of the Great Hanshin-Awaji Earthquake (1995) and suffered unprecedented damage. When I told him about our project, he immediately agreed, saying, "Sennenichi Sake Brewery was also greatly helped by the people around them at the time of the earthquake. We are now in a position to support them.
In this way, a project was started from Awaji Island, which had survived the earthquake, to create a sake with gold leaf that had traveled through space to support the reconstruction of Fukushima, and to use part of the proceeds to support the reconstruction of Fukushima.

■Project Contents
This project consists of three pillars.
(1) Why space and gold leaf?
We at Uchu-Dayori Studio have been planning, developing, and selling products that foster space culture to begin with.
We thought that gold leaf was the only way to "travel through the universe, harbor a faraway life force, and deliver the fragrance of dreams and romance.
Moreover, it is only famous sake that can float gold leaf, and this is the story of the world's first space gold leaf sake that will take you to a blissful euphoria that transcends time and space.
(2) Support for reconstruction
The special space gold leaf daiginjo-shu, fragrant with the romance of the universe, was created through an encounter with the Sennenichi Sake Brewery, which has been brewing local sake for more than 140 years and was severely damaged by the Great Hanshin Earthquake, but with the support of the people around it, rebuilt part of its brewery and has continued to brew sake. And it is a glorious ale from the island of the birth of the nation, which adorns the beginning of the Kojiki, to the island of the resurrected blessings.
(3) Relationships with many people
We named the cosmic gold leaf daiginjo-shu "Tsunagi KIZUNA" (meaning "relationship" in Japanese), which was made possible thanks to the amazing number of people with whom we had relationships. Golden Valor Co. in Kanazawa who gave us the idea of making small volume gold leaf, JAMSS (Japan Manned Space Systems) who made it possible to put it on a rocket, One Earth Foundation who coordinated the whole launch to space, and the President of One Earth Awaji Island who introduced us to a brewery on Awaji Island. Mr. Nishimura, Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan, who kindly accepted to write "tethers" on the rocket, and Dream Network Activity Ltd. of Takamatsu, who took charge of all the design work.
Space Gold Leaf Preparation
The work of folding 36 layers of gold leaf (about 1/1,000th of a millimeter of gold) into the size of an extremely small rocket loading container (internal capacity 16 x 58 x 4 mm).
After returning to Japan, gold leaf craftsmen in Kanazawa spread them out and further reduce them to one-tenth their thickness so that they can be shattered and put into sake.

<In March 2023, he will go into space and stay on the ISS for a month.
We delivered the gold leaf to Japan Manned Space Systems (JAMSS) in January 2023.
The gilt was loaded onto a Falcon 9 rocket of the U.S. space company SpaceX at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
It was launched in March 2023, stayed on the ISS (International Space Station) for about one month, and returned to Earth.

■Preparation for Sake
<August 2022: Visit to Sennenichi Sake Brewery
As you can see in the photo, I felt a strange connection when I saw "Teru Uchu" written on a straw barrel of sake placed at the entrance.
When I met with President Uenoyama and told him about this project, he said, "We were saved by so many people at the time of the Great Hanshin Earthquake. It is our turn to return the favor." He readily agreed to participate in the project.
<We asked him to tell us more about the Sennenichi Sake Brewery.
Daiginjo "Chiyonen no En" has won the gold medal five times at the National New Sake Competition (2000, 2001, 2011, 2012, and 2015). Therefore, we decided to float space gold leaf on the base of this "Chiyodai no En" for the space gold leaf sake we are planning this time.
<The connection with the land of Awaji Island.
Ultra-thin gold leaf, the world's first space adventure, landed at a traditional sake brewery on Awaji Island, which is said to be the island of the god of nation-building in the Kojiki, and combined with daiginjo-shu to create a special space gold leaf daiginjo sake with the aroma of space romance. This is a story of dreams and romance that links the ancient and the present, space and Awaji Island.
