Background
Kohei Hospital is one of the top hospitals in Japan in terms of the number of outpatients with fever (corona treatment). It also accepts a very large number of patients, including 24-hour emergency outpatients and nonstop outpatients with no lunch break.
At the time the corona outbreak was spreading, administrative and billing operations were unable to keep up with the greater-than-expected number of patients seen. Another issue was the long waiting time for patients.
Kohei Hospital introduced its own accounting system so that patients could make payments after returning home, but the workflow for billing, collections, and reminders was not in place, and accounts receivable were increasing.
