The Czech Festival, one of Japan's largest events introducing the charms of the Czech Republic, a country in Central Europe, will be held for three days from November 3 (Fri., holiday) to November 5 (Sun.), 2023, in Futakotamagawa, Tokyo.

The main venue is the Tamagawa riverside (in front of Futakotamagawa Park) in the Kineko International Film Festival venue. The large outdoor space will be lined with booths selling glass beads, character goods, picture books, Bohemian glassware, CDs, made in Czech speakers, and other miscellaneous goods directly imported from Czechia.

Official baseball caps and uniforms of the Czech national baseball team, which attracted much attention at the WBC (World Baseball Classic) held in March this year, will also be available in limited quantities. These valuable Czech national team goods are only available at the Czech Festival.

Booths featuring Czech beverages and food will also be gathered. Try The Premium Maltz made with Czech hops, the Czech Republic's most popular Pilsner Urquell, Moravian wine, spirits, brandy, and other rarely seen Czech drinks. To accompany the drinks, enjoy classic Czech flavors such as sausages, fried cheese, stews, and breads. And for dessert after dinner, enjoy traditional Czech sweets.

The popular stage programs include a constant stream of Czech music concerts, mini-Czech language classes, and talk shows about Czech culture and travel.

In addition to the main venue, there will be an exhibition of Czech piano "PETROF" and music concerts at the Tamagawa Takashimaya Department Store, and marionette-making workshops at the Central Square. More details about the stage program and workshops will be available in October.

A special concert by the Czech jazz trio "Emil Vikritzky Trio" will be held on the evening of Thursday, October 2, the eve of the festival! Tickets for this concert will be on sale from October 20 (Mon.) at 11:00 a.m. on the Kineko International Film Festival website (https://kineko.jp/).

Kinetico International Film Festival

An international film festival that has been held since 1992 and is suitable for everyone from 0 years old to adults. The festival is based on the "Zlín International Film Festival" held in Zlín, Czech Republic, and features screenings of films for children from around the world, as well as various events and workshops held at multiple venues around Futakotamagawa Station.
