Ecru Corporation (Location: Fukui City, Fukui Prefecture; President: Tetsuaki Yokoyama) will hold a solo exhibition of painter Isisaka Gorou at the "ecru Gallery" in the company building from October 21 (Saturday) to November 19 (Sunday), 2023. We have planned this exhibition to encourage not only our clients, but also the general public to continue to "focus on living".

Retreats in search of travel destinations

According to a survey by JTB, the number of people who went on overnight or longer trips during this year's summer vacation (July 15-August 31, 2023) was 72.5 million, a 116.9% increase over the previous year and back to the same level as before the Corona disaster. The most popular trend is "retreats. According to our own research, a certain hotel in Okuboso, Chiba Prefecture, has doubled the number of guests since the same period before the Corona disaster by introducing a "retreat" concept. (According to our research, the number of guests has doubled compared to the same period before Corona.) Other "retreat" type facilities are increasing all over the country as a way to look at oneself and to reset one's busy daily life.

Home is a refuge for the soul.

In February 2023, we built a retreat-type residence that provides a space for solitude in the home (in addition to the restroom), and our client said, "My home is a refuge for the soul. We feel that our mission is to help such an ideal lifestyle not fade away, but rather to enhance it. Yokoyama himself has been in the industry for more than 30 years, and during his time in Osaka working for a major developer, he witnessed the gap between people's ideals and the reality of their lives. I regretted that I did not have the time to properly discuss what kind of life I wanted at the beginning. 2005, after I started the company, we thoroughly and over time discuss what kind of life we want. This also translates into "how I want to live. Using our unique program, we will take our time to create your ideal home together. Nevertheless, we also recognize that architecture is not a panacea. We have considered the factors necessary to sustain an ideal lifestyle.

Gallery opened so that you can continue to focus on your lifestyle.

In 2018, we opened the "Ecru Gallery" in our company building, inspired by conversations with our clients at a home party held in our 10th year of operation. Actions such as displaying paintings are ideas that one would not have come up with without an interest in living, and the in-house gallery is an effective place to interact with clients. We have held eight exhibitions so far, featuring local painters from Fukui and artists who are alumni of Osaka University of Arts, the school from which our representative hails.

This time, we are pleased to present a solo exhibition by painter Isisaka Kagorou, who helped us open the gallery. Mr. Ishizaka is the eldest son of Haruo Ishizaka, who was a student of Ryohei Koiso, one of Japan's leading Western-style painters.
