LAC Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Itsuro Nishimoto; hereafter, "Rack") has been providing migration services to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), a cloud platform provided by Oracle. In addition to the migration service to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), Oracle Cloud VMware Solution (OCVS), a service that enables smooth migration of VMware virtual server environment "vSphere" based systems used by many companies as mission-critical systems to OCI, will be launched on October 2, 2012.

OCVS is characterized by its ability to migrate to the cloud while minimizing changes to existing vSphere configurations and operational environments, and by leveraging the cloud implementation know-how accumulated by Rack Rack, OCVS features the ability to migrate while minimizing changes to existing vSphere configurations and operational environments.
Service Features: Same ease of use as on-premises in the cloud
OCVS is a service that allows system environments built on VMware's vSphere virtual servers to be migrated directly to the OCI cloud platform.
A feature of this service is that companies can control the timing of vSphere environment version upgrades and patch applications in the same way as with on-premise systems. This enables us to meet the needs of companies that wish to minimize operational changes and implement new initiatives such as upgrades and patching after fully verifying the OS, middleware, and applications of the current system. This is ideal for companies that want to have an environment in the cloud with the same ease of use as on-premise systems.
By implementing OCVS, companies can realize benefits such as reduced infrastructure costs (servers, storage, etc.), disaster recovery, and an IT infrastructure and organization that can flexibly respond to business changes by using cloud-native services. In contrast, other services other than OCI can be used to reduce infrastructure costs, such as servers and storage.
In contrast, vSphere migration services provided by other clouds other than OCI often have vSphere version upgrades and patches applied automatically by the cloud vendor, making it difficult for companies to control their own settings.
Solutions for future operational issues
In the initial phase of an OCVS implementation project supported by LAC, the current operational environment is configured on a cloud environment in a short period of time with minimal changes. We also plan to expand our support services in the future to address remaining issues such as environmental upgrades after OCI/OCVS migration, assessments, and phased optimization plans for the cloud environment. In the future, we are also looking to integrate our security solutions and services with those of Rack's.
