The "first grade wall" refers to the difficulty in balancing work and child-rearing when children enter elementary school, and is one of the social problems that tend to occur mainly between the first semester and summer vacation, when children are not accustomed to school. However, the reality is that as many as 68% of respondents felt that the "first grade wall" continues into the second semester. In this survey, we will introduce specific reasons for feeling the first grade wall and countermeasures that parents can take immediately.

Other problems included "poor physical condition due to disruption of lifestyle (19%)," "earlier pick-up time because the sun goes down earlier (12%)," "more homework and no time to do it (12%)," "more events, making it difficult to balance work and school (11%)," and "children saying they don't want to go to school (6%).

All of these reasons can be said to be barriers to first grade that can occur only in the second semester. So, what countermeasures can be considered? The following is a summary of the countermeasures that were effective when put into practice.

(1) Putting students to bed early

Many people say that one of the most important measures against the first grade wall is to put children to bed early.
