TAMARIBA, a festival on the Tama River waterfront 30 minutes from central Tokyo The festival will be held on November 4 (Sat.) and 5 (Sun.), 2023!

comaecolor (President: Masami Yamamoto), a pro bono team from Komae City, will hold the Tama Riverside Festival "TAMARIBA" at the Izumi Tama River Riverside Park on November 4 (Sat.) and 5 (Sun.), 2023. This year will be the 5th time the event will be held.

TAMARIBA, which started in 2016, is the largest waterfront festival in the Tokyo metropolitan area, taking advantage of the characteristics of the river area and attracting 15,000 visitors over two days in 2022 on the Tama River flowing through Komae City, Tokyo. The event is organized by comaecolor, and one of its features is that it is a completely DIY operation, with operating expenses covered by donations from visitors.

This year's theme is "MORE TAMAGAWA," which allows visitors to experience the charms of Tama River from various perspectives, and new attractive contents will be introduced. The music stage will feature HIROSHI.

A record 20 artists will appear on the music stage, including HIROSHI (FIVE NEW OLD), Living Rita, and Mahiru Koda, and at night, candle artist Masashi Minai will create a fantastic Tama River. For two days, children and adults alike can enjoy the unusual and extraordinary Tama River to the fullest. We look forward to seeing you there.

The BACK TO RIVER project started in Hinohara Village, at the headwaters of the Tama River system, as an action to protect the river by bringing together people who love the river. The project has been active in a wide range of areas, from the "HINOKO TOKYO" members-only campground to the development of Hinohara Village's first craft beer. In this edition of TAMARIBA, we will hear about the activities of TAMAGAWA LOVE and look for hints for the future of the Tama River lifestyle.

Starry sky talk by Yuta Sasaki, a traveling stargazer in Tama River.

Yuta Sasaki has visited 145 cities in 43 countries and has toured observatories, planetariums, and other places with beautiful starry skies around the world. Currently, he is working as a starry sky interpreter at a planetarium in Tokyo, as well as a tour guide for overseas starry sky tours, and continues to travel the world's starry skies in his private and public life. Mr. Sasaki has selected the Tama River as one of his favorite spots in Tokyo to look up at the starry sky. He will introduce the charms of the starry sky of Tama River that we do not know.

Organizer's Comment

The Tama River Riverside Festival "TAMARIBA" attracted more than 15,000 visitors in 2022. What makes this event unique is that it is run in a DIY style by people who love the Tama River and do not rely on big sponsorships or production companies. The operating costs are covered by donations from visitors. With such great support from everyone, this year's event will be held for the fifth time.

This year's theme is "MORE TAMAGAWA.

We are preparing original events such as "TAMARIBA Talk Session," "TAMARIBA Candle Night," and "TAMAGAWA Starry Sky Talk" so that people can learn about and enjoy the familiar Tama River from various angles.

The event will also feature the largest number of craft beer breweries, food, crafts, workshops, and activities in the city and beyond, as well as two music stages. In addition, there will be two music stages. A total of 20 artists will perform on the Tama River.

We hope that visitors will bring their own chairs or picnic sheets and enjoy the Tama River in their own way. We hope to create "TAMARIBA" together with all visitors.
