A special experience wearing period costumes in Edo town! A Sword-Fighting Experience" will be held at Toei Movie Village in Kyoto for a limited time from Saturday, September 16! A Sword-Fighting Experience" will be held at Toei Movie Studios in Kyoto for a limited time from September 16 (Saturday)!

From September 16 (Sat) to November 30 (Thu), Toei Kyoto Movie Village (located in Ukyo-ku, Kyoto City) will offer an authentic "Killing Squad" experience wearing period costumes in the open set of the movie village, Edo no Machi. The instructors are Toei actors who have studied sword fighting at Toei Kyoto Studio, which is adjacent to the Film Village. We will teach you the real "Killing Squad" which has been cultivated through movies and TV dramas.

In addition to Japanese language, we will explain the performance in simple English so that foreign visitors can enjoy Japanese culture as well.

Please take home with you as a memory of your trip a special experience that can only be had at Toei Movie Village.

STEP(1) Change into authentic period costumes

Staff members who have worked on Toei films and TV programs will assist you in dressing.

You can choose from five types of costumes: <Waka Samurai> <Ninja> <Ryoma Sakamoto> <Shinsengumi> <Wakashu Furisode>.

STEP(2) Let's learn how to use a sword in Edo town!

Toei actors, who studied sword fighting at Toei Kyoto Studio, will teach you how to perform sword fighting, starting with "Rei" (bowing), "Battou" (drawing the sword), "Nattou" (delivering the sword), basic stance, and sword swinging.

STEP(3) Time for shooting while moving from place to place

You can take cool photos on the way to the place where you are going to challenge the sword fighting.

STEP(4) Finally, the challenge of the battle to kill!

You will be challenged to try a sword fight in pairs. Actors from Toei will be on hand to help you with your performance.
