(Location: Kamo-gun, Shizuoka Prefecture) will release a craft beer made with ripe bananas and papayas, which has been very popular since 2021, in collaboration with Izu craft beer brewery Reflecting Furnace Brewery.

The official mail order service of Atugawa Banana Crocodile Garden will begin taking reservations on July 1, and shipments will begin sequentially from the release date.

Craft Beer Project Using Atugawa Banana Crocodile Garden's Specialty Fruits

With the continuing impact of the new corona virus, the Atugawa Banana Wani En and Reflecting Furnace Beer, both tourist facilities in Izu, started a project two years ago to brew a collaboration beer in the hope of boosting tourism in Izu by combining the attractions of each other. Last year, we received a great response and sold out. This year marks the 65th anniversary of the park's opening in September, and we are offering a new beer style and a special bottle for everyone.

About the two craft beers created this time

The two beers are made from the garden's ripe bananas and papayas, which are harvested by hand using the heat from the hot springs in Atugawa.

The back label also has the 65th anniversary logo printed on it.

＜Izu Banana Wani Weizen

This new fruit weizen is full of the charm of the ripe bananas grown in the garden!

This collaboration beer is brewed by Reflecting Furnace Brewery, also located in Izu, using only Senjinsho, a Taiwanese banana cultivated by the Atugawa Banana Crocodile Garden, to create a beer full of local charm.

This time, we took on the challenge of adding ripe bananas grown in the garden to a beer style characterized by its banana aroma, a feat rarely attempted elsewhere!

In order to fully utilize the vibrant aroma of bananas, we did not boil the bananas this time, but instead quickly added them at a low temperature range.

Please enjoy the banana aroma and the smooth, fruity taste that only Weizen can offer!

＜Izu Papaya IPA

Made with plenty of ripe papayas grown in the garden! This summer, it is newly released as a tropical IPA!

This collaboration beer is brewed by Brewery Reflecting Furnace, also located in Izu, and uses the best ripe papayas grown in the park by Atugawa Banana Crocodile Garden.

This time, by using plenty of papaya and adding hops with a tropical aroma, we have created a beer with a gorgeous aroma that has a stronger tropical feel.

One sip and you will feel like you are in the tropics♪ This is a special beer that will bring this summer to life!

Varieties of ripe papayas used: Florida, Coco, Beniteng, and Brazilian large papayas.

About Atugawa Banana Crocodile Park

The Atugawa Banana Crocodile Park uses hot spring heat to breed crocodiles and cultivate tropical plants. The number of crocodiles bred is the largest in Japan, with approximately 100 animals of 15 different species. We also cultivate 5,000 species of tropical plants. The park is the only one in Japan that breeds and raises western red pandas, and the only one in Japan that raises Amazonian manatees. The fruit parlor serves bananas and papayas grown in the park.

The garden will celebrate its 65th anniversary this September.
