Demolition Support to cover the cost of asbestos analysis, starting in June 2022 in Tokyo only.

(Nakano-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Masaru Sugiyama), operator of Kaitai Support, Japan's largest comprehensive portal site that provides free introductions to demolition contractors, has launched a service that covers the cost of asbestos analysis for consultants who meet certain conditions and are considering demolition work. The service will be available in June 2022 on a limited basis in Tokyo.

As of April 2022, it has become mandatory to report the results of asbestos surveys to the prefectural government regardless of whether or not asbestos-containing building materials are present, and even for ordinary detached houses, demolition work with a total floor area of 80 m2 or more must be reported to the survey results.

The cost of an asbestos survey is about 30,000 to 40,000 yen per specimen, and depending on the building, several specimens may need to be surveyed, which will increase the burden on the owner.

Therefore, we have launched a service that covers the cost of asbestos analysis for one specimen of exterior wall material for those who are considering demolition work and meet certain conditions.

Conditions for eligibility

Applicants must have a property in Tokyo.

Analysis of exterior wall materials of buildings with a total floor area of 80m2 or more

Witness at the time of the on-site inspection

The owner of the property or a relative of the owner

Those who have signed a contract with a demolition company introduced by the company

According to a survey conducted by the company, only 3% (6 out of 200) of property owners are aware of the need to report the results of asbestos surveys.

In the future, the understanding of owners will be necessary for demolition companies to properly deal with asbestos in demolition work, and we will continue to make this information known in a variety of ways.
